tribune 742 | multifunctional furniture and spatial design for Lucerne University DFK | 2025

Project “Plaza 742” is a community space of the Digital Ideation program at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design, Film, and Art. It serves as an open place for encounter and exchange – a collaborative environment that gives space to interdisciplinary topics and projects.

Commissioned by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, a spatial concept was developed and implemented.

As part of this process, two products were created, each specifically adapted to the needs and identity of the program.

The “tribune 742”  is a permanently installed, multifunctional piece of furniture that provides space for lectures, group work, workshops, and everyday student life. Integrated storage compartments offer space for benches, seat cushions, books, and a collection of materials used for creative work and ideation workshops.

The light installation “satellite 742” consists of seven identical lighting elements whose construction allows circular and modular variation in size and color. As one moves through the space, the overlapping glass layers create dynamic color shifts, making each light appear unique from every perspective.
